Jesper Beckholt is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, fiber arts, and illustration. Their work explores embodiment, intimacy, and innocence, particularly as related to Queer and neurodivergent experience. Jesper utilizes nontraditional sculptural elements, most notably pipe cleaners, to create vibrant pop surrealist works that come to life as living cartoons. A lifelong artist, they have sought to keep their inner child’s perspective close to heart.
Jesper received a Drawing Certificate and is completing an Associates of Fine Arts from Sinclair Community College, where their studies have evolved toward sculpture over time. Living and working in Dayton, Ohio, Jesper operates a home studio and small business, and has had work regularly exhibited as well as collected. They have been featured in institutions such as Sinclair Art Galleries, Rosewood Art Gallery, Dayton Society of Artists, and The Dayton LGBT Center among others. They were most recently voted Best in Show at the 2024 Dayton Art in the City event.
